The David Fleming Award in Humanities
In memory of David Fleming
1947 – 2017
David joined Trinity Hall in 1965 as an undergraduate reading Law and stayed for his graduate degree. He continued at Trinity Hall as a Fellow from 1970 to 2008. He was also a Tutor and finally an Emeritus Fellow signifying over 40 years at the College. He died on 10 March 2017 after a brief illness.
Each year David kindly used to donate money to the College to enable a £200 prize for contributions in the humanities to be awarded to a Trinity Hall undergraduate. The prize is for someone who excels in artistic endeavours, by contributing to artistic life in the College in some way as well as performing well in their Tripos exam. To endow the prize to award £200 per year we would like to raise £8,000 in David’s memory. Any further funds raised can be used to offer additional prizes and/or support the humanities and performing arts in College.
