Join TH alumni for a fascinating evening at the new Mary Rose Museum in the Historic Dockyard, Portsmouth.

Before dinner, you will have drinks in the museum where viewing platforms enable guests to look at the ancient vessel and many artefacts.  The contents of the sailors’ timber chests which have been pulled from the wreck have enabled researchers to piece together the identities of some of the sailors, and guests will be able to read their stories.  Guides will be on hand to answer your questions and to talk you through the objects.

At the end of your tour, you will take your seats in the dining room which is decorated with the ship’s gold and silver plates.  Chris Dobbs (TH 1976), Head of Interpretation at the Mary Rose, has  kindly agreed to give a short talk before dinner is served.  This will be a unique opportunity to hear about the Mary Rose from somebody who has been instrumental in raising her and in setting up this stunning museum. A three course dinner with drinks will then be served.  You will be able to round off your evening by taking a walk out onto the terrace, from where you will have an excellent view of the floodlit HMS Victory.

The cost per head for the entire evening, including the visit to the museum, the talk by Chris Dobbs, dinner and all drinks, will be £50 per head.

IN ADDITION, all dinner guests will be eligible to purchase concessionary tickets which will allow access to the whole Historic Dockyard site on Sunday 6 October.  These can be purchased at the point of booking for £12.50 each.

This event is nearly fully booked and on-line booking is now closed.  To enquire about availability or to be placed on a waiting list, please contact Mary Richmond in the Alumni Office.
